Boxing gloves

Boxing gloves — what to look for

Anyone who trains boxing, kickboxing or Muay Thai needs boxing gloves — from pad work to hard sparring. The key factor is weight in ounces (oz): lighter gloves suit experienced fighters working on the bag and on speed, heavier ones give more protection in sparring and spare both your joints and your partner. Material matters too — genuine leather offers durability under intensive training, while quality synthetics are more practical and low-maintenance. Think about what you really need them for: a beginner wants one versatile pair for the club, while a competitor splits training between bag work, technique and sparring. Also look at the cut, closure and inner padding, which affect how the glove fits your hand and how stable your wrist is. Here you’ll find boxing gloves for training and sparring that stand up to hard graft.
